In Judith Barker's "Disappearing Beauty" series, the artist is inspired to embark on a photographic journey to capture awe inspiring images of natural grandeur, before it is lost forever as a result of the ever changing climate. Her photographs provide a freeze frame of scenes that are integral to the maintenance of our world's "natural heritage." Appropriately including an array of environments from glacial scenes to lush mountainous terrains, this series serves as an aesthetic documentation of the many marvels of our world.

Judith Barker has studied photography at UC Berkeley Extension in California and attended Woodstock Photography Workshops in New York. She has also received a Masters in Communication, Film Studies from New York University and a Bachelor of Science in Design from the University of Cincinnati. Her work has been shown in various exhibitions in both New York and California.

Urban Hardwoods was founded in Seattle in 2002 as the most progressive and responsible wood furniture manufacturer and retailer in America. Stores in Seattle, San Francisco, and West Hollywood showcase an array of slab furniture made from trees salvaged in the Pacific Northwest. Sustainable Industries Magazine awarded Urban Hardwoods as one of the Top 10 Green Building Products of 2008. Combinations of man-made and natural materials define the Urban Hardwoods product.
